Allison Langdon takes another day off Today after the Queen's funeral

Today host has taken another well-deserved day off after fronting the Nine show’s marathon coverage of the Queen’s funeral earlier this month.

Langdon jetted back to on Thursday looking exhausted after broadcasting round-the-clock outside  since Her Majesty’s death.

The 43-year-old wasn’t on air on Friday and decided to make a long weekend of it by also having Monday off, with Sarah Abo filling in alongside .

The co-anchors didn’t mention her absence, but it can be assumed she was catching up on rest after an exhausting fortnight that saw her travel across the globe and work gruelling 14-hour days to cover the death and funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

She worked so hard that at one stage she , although the moment fortunately happened during a break from live reporting.

Langdon last appeared on air on Wednesday when she anchored the Today show solo from London while her co-host Stefanovic was on a flight back to Australia.

She jetting back to Sydney Airport on Thursday.

The breakfast TV host had been on the ground in England on September 12, with Stefanovic joining her a day later.

Nine seems to have staggered its presenters’ flights back to Australia so its flagship news programs, such as the Today show, weren’t without both main hosts.

Langdon last appeared on air on Wednesday when she anchored the Today show solo from London while her co-host Stefanovic was on a flight back to Australia 

It comes after Langdon nodded off on set during a break from reporting on the Queen’s funeral last Monday, after broadcasting for 14 hours from .

Exhausted, she rolled up a jacket to use as a pillow as she took a nap on the lap of Today’s senior producer Will Hutchinson, who snapped a photo for Instagram. 

She reposted the photo to her own Instagram Stories on Tuesday, alongside the caption: ‘Hour 14.Everything is fine.’
